IDAP aims to be a regional development agency in the long run that will be committed to meeting the needs and challenges of a select few of the development issues in Africa by focusing financial resources, human resources, services and expertise on the neediest populations. Our mission is to help disadvantaged members of society break out of the vicious cycle of poverty. We will do this by effectively complementing the efforts of the various development partners aimed at empowering the African people - especially women and girls - in their socio-cultural, and economic endeavors. In order for the people to lead comfortable lives, we will help them to actively participate in the general socio-cultural and economic development activities in their countries.
Our mission derives from the premise that absolute and grinding poverty, political turmoil and intolerance as well as retrogressive cultural practices and beliefs common in the continent are anathema to any meaningful development activities in Africa. Therefore, it is IDAP's intention to work in concert with other partners and the various African governments by providing essential services and resources necessary for initiating programmes that will strive to pull the poorest African people out of the quagmire in which they often find themselves.
